About Christina

I have a passion for helping women through their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. My passion began before my own pregnancy in 2018. I realized that the need for personalized support for many pregnant women is unmet. After the birth of my son in early 2019, my interest in doula work grew and I began researching avenues to become a doula. I chose to study and become a Certified Birth Doula and Certified Postpartum Doula through Childbirth International. I am also studying to become a Certified Lactation Counselor as a stepping stone to becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

My goal is to help women feel safe and confident in their abilities to birth and to care for their newborn. In line with my education as a Registered Nurse, I strive to only present evidence-based information to you, but I also believe in sensibility and following your instincts. Witnessing healthy, physiological birth unfold naturally, without interference, is where my heart lies. But I’m here for every woman and every type of birth. I am here to educate about your choices and support you in whatever YOU choose.

I can’t imagine anything in life being more fulfilling than helping families navigate their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum time. It is a joy to be a witness to these experiences and an honor to have an active part in helping during one of the biggest transitions in life.

In my free time I love spending time with family, weight lifting, hiking, traveling, and baking. I never turn down the opportunity to try something new or visit a new place. I thrive on adventure and change!

Postpartum Support

Rising into motherhood takes strength. It's hard. And we aren't meant to do it alone. I'll be there to help you build that strength, at your own pace and in your own way. As a postpartum doula, I'm going to focus on nourishing your physical, mental, and emotional health after birth. I'll be there for you, first and foremost, but I'll also be there to help your partner navigate through their new role. And if this isn't your first child, I'll be there to help your older children adjust to their new sibling.

As your postpartum doula, I will:

  • Assist with feeding (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, combo feeding, SNS feeding)

  • Provide newborn care

  • Provide emotional support for mother and father

  • Provide physical support for mother

  • Help acclimate older siblings and pets with baby

  • Prepare light meals and assist with meal planning

  • Carry out light housework and cleaning

  • Provide overnight support

  • Educate on parenting decisions and issues related to your newborn's phases

  • Educate on normal newborn behavior, including sleep/wake patterns

  • Provide resources for assistance with other postpartum needs

As your postpartum doula, I cannot:

  • Advise on medical decisions

  • Diagnose diseases/conditions or prescribe medical treatments

What you can expect after contacting me:

  • A free meet-and-greet so that we can know if we connect in the way that you expect from a postpartum doula

  • One 1-2 hour prenatal visit, in your home or an agreed upon public place, to create a plan for your postpartum care

  • A check-in at 38 weeks

  • Postpartum support any time, up to baby's age of 12 weeks.

  • If you have already given birth before contacting me, the free meet-and-greet can be done virtually or in your home.

"My wife and I just had our son Thomas Damien-Blaise and I can not express how wonderful it was to have Christina Perry as our Doula. Not only was she an advocate for my wife and her wishes, but Christina was also an advocate for my wishes as a father to participate in the birth of our son. I will forever be grateful for Christina's services and I HIGHLY recommend her as a doula!"

"Christina was our doula for my husband and my first baby a few months ago and she was so supportive! She had tons of helpful information and resources that made us feel very confident when making decisions. And she did such a great job creating a calm and relaxing environment for all of us. She really listened to what was best for us and overall made the experience so good! Also as someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression in the past, I really appreciated her focus on mental health. She opened up the discussion of post partum depression in a way that felt safe and supportive, so I could really feel comfortable talking to her. I highly recoemmend her!"

"If you are looking for a friend that can help you navigate pregnancy and birth, someone who loves empowering women through education … Christina is your doula. If you want someone to help you navigate postpartum changes, breastfeeding and postpartum mental health…she’s your doula. I couldn’t have done any of this without her."

"As a first time mom (and my first pregnancy), having Christina with us along the way was calming for me as I wasn't sure what to expect (the books only tell you so much and pregnancy groups on apps/Facebook can really bring out your fears/anxieties). It gave me constant reassurance of her support during our birth, and reassurance for myself that I was capable of birthing our baby (all of which she always so kindly and genuinely reminded me during our sessions). For my husband, her presence helped him understand where he could speak up for us and our birth desires/expectations at the hospital and with the hospital staff. For me, selecting Christina as our doula was an easy decision, and one that I'll make again someday."
